NTI appoints new Acting President

Nan Tien Institute (NTI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Emeritus Professor Bill Lovegrove as Acting President.

This move comes after the departure of Emeritus Professor Loxton, NTI’s Foundation Dean, Acting President, Vice President (Academic) and Chair, Academic Board, in late February.

Professor Loxton retired from NTI after seven years in key senior positions. He oversaw the establishment and development of NTI from small foundations, to a team with over 20 professionals across 2 campuses, two government-accredited postgraduate programs, an English Language Centre, and a wide range of partnerships and collaborations with organisations around the world.

Professor Lovegrove will now steer NTI in its next phase of development and growth.

Professor Lovegrove’s extensive university experience includes executive positions as Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Southern Queensland, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor at Griffith University, and senior positions at the University of Wollongong - after commencing his academic career at the University of Tasmania.

Part of Professor Lovegrove’s extensive qualifications is a Graduate Certificate in Applied Buddhist Studies at NTI. “It is good to see NTI demonstrating those really high standards of modern pedagogy,” he said. “NTI is the beginnings of a very good Institute, and the learning experience is superb.”
