Join our very informative tours guided by our highly trained tour guides. Participate in Chinese cultural activities and learn about Buddhism in the largest Buddhist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere. These tours have become increasingly popular over the past few years!

The information on this website only provides an outline of the temple features, so we strongly suggest and highly recommend a visit to the Nan Tien Temple. There is an extensive variety of day tours available suitable to all ages and interests; however for those who are travelling from a distance, Nan Tien Temple provides an 'Overnight Excursion' staying at our beautiful Pilgrim Lodge.

The tour will not only involve the unique visual experience of the buildings, statues, shrines & beautiful gardens but will provide an insight into Chinese culture and the beliefs and practices of Humanistic Buddhism.

Itineries for schools are particularly chosen to suit Primary, Junior and Senior Secondary and include all levels required for studies from Department of Education. These tours are highly recommended. Bookings are essential.

This 1.5 hour guided tour will give you an overview of:

• Architectural layouts of each shrine
• Explanations on Buddhist symbols and statues situated around temple grounds
• An inspection on the precious artworks located on our museum
• Buddhist philosophy and how you can practice Buddhism in your daily life
• Fee Includes Admission to Museum

Choose from Chinese cultural activities including:

• Origami: learn to art of paper folding
• Tai Chi: experience the flowing motions
• Calligraphy: feel the breeze of Chinese art
• Meditation: experience the tranquillity of mindfulness (Not recommended for children below 12 years of age)
• Basic Buddhism : an enlightening view on aspects of Buddhism (Not recommended for children below 12 years of age)

   If the number of people falls under 15, then the minimum fee will apply.

Sat and Sun Tours for individuals

Commencing in September guided Temple Tours will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm for individuals or groups less than 15. Booking can be done at reception prior to 12.50 pm. Cost $4.00pp and includes entry to the museum.

Larger groups must be pre-booked by ringing the Temple on 4272 0600 to check availability and organise tour requirements.
